Somebody Paid Money to Research This?

Experian Simmons, a consumer market research house, released some data today from its 2008 National Consumer Study/National Hispanic Consumer Study focusing specifically on those who watch the Super Bowl.

The results were astounding. (Insert sarcastic expression here.)

Most Super Bowl fans watch America’s most popular sporting event from their own home, drink beer during the game, and are most receptive to ads that make them laugh.

Yup, somebody paid money to expand the survey and uncover these insights. Check out the charts below:

George W. Bush holds the record with 73 percentage points.
Harry S. Truman is second highest with 65 percentage points.
George H.W. Bush is third highest with 60 percentage points.
Jimmy Carter is fourth highest with 47 percentage points.

Highest disapproval rating:

George W. Bush holds the record with 76% (9/16-19/2008, 5% undecided, American Research Group).
Harry S. Truman is second highest, with 67% (1/6-11/1952, 9% undecided, Gallup Poll).
Richard Nixon is third highest, with 66% (1/4-7/1974, 10% undecided, Gallup Poll).
George H.W. Bush is fourth highest, with 60% (7/31-8/2/92, 11% undecided, Gallup Poll).

Cadbury’s gorilla drummer ad, with more than 5 million views for the original video on YouTube, was the top viral-video ad, followed by Smirnoff’s Green Tea Partay, with 3.4mm views, according to agency GoViral, reports the Financial Times.
